The Implosion Of The Frontier Hotel & Casino
A special treat for the NAR attendees who were willing to stay up for it, was the implosion of the Frontier Hotel & Casino. Jackie Colson-Miller had a room with a perfect view. She invited anyone who was up for it (2:30am) to her room to watch the spectacle, and there were six of us, including Kevin Joiner from Crye-Leike. Here is some video I shot. The actual implosion created no light for the camera to pick up, but the explosion was powerful.

BOOM, BOOM, out go the lights! Seems we have at least one of these a year here. The Stardust was the last one to get demo’d. There are talks that the Tropicana could be nexet.

Here’s what I loved about this: You were all so quiet and whisper-y, perhaps it was the hour or jet lag, but I could feel the anticipation because of that quiet. Like little kids waiting for something bigger than life, which I’m sure it was…
Thanks for sharing, Jeff!
